About Sinaia ski area
Transport Urban Sinaia runs both sections of the Gondola Sinaia and the cable car (Telecabina), the Carp gondola, the Soarelui, Dorului and Express chairlifts, the Soarelui and Călugărul drag lifts, the Partia Nouă ski lift and a beginners’ carpet. The longest run, Drumul de Vară, is 2,972 m; the highest start at about 2,090 m on Varianta and Lăptici; the Carp is the steepest homologated black run in Romania. Lift and piste status is live on the operator’s home page.
From the town, take the cable car from the centre to Cota 1400 and on to Cota 2000, or the gondola from Cota 1000. The high bowls are where most of the skiing is: Valea Soarelui 1 and 2, Lăptici, Cocora, Genune and the Călugărul runs from the chairlift and drag lifts, Valea Dorului, Vâlcel and Floare de Colț from the new Dorului chairlift, and the Carp, Furnica, Papagal and Târle runs from the Carp gondola. Partia Nouă, 1,800 m from Cota 1400 to Cota 1000, brings you back towards town when the snow is good.
Lifts run roughly 9:00 to 16:30, with technical checks on some lifts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; the cable car from town starts at 9:00. Groomers work with winch cables on steep slopes, so never ski outside opening hours.

Our advice: start early on the cable car at weekends, ski the sunny Valea Soarelui in the morning, and save the Carp for when the snow is soft.
