Canada’s highest outdoor pool, since 1886

About Banff Upper Hot Springs

The Banff Upper Hot Springs, run by Parks Canada, have drawn bathers since 1886. The water is kept between 37 and 40 °C in what Parks Canada calls Canada’s highest outdoor pool, among the peaks of Rundle and Cascade mountains, and the bathhouse is a federal heritage building. Entry is first come, first served, bought only at reception; Roam Route 1 runs from downtown every 20 minutes. Closed for maintenance from 13 October to early November.
