About Cairngorm Mountain Railway
The funicular runs from the base station to the Ptarmigan top station at 1,097 metres in about eight minutes; from September the first train up is at 10am and the last at 3:30pm, with the last train down at 4:30pm. It is the UK’s highest funicular and Scotland’s only mountain railway, with the Ptarmigan Restaurant and the Shop at the Top waiting at the summit.
