About Gorski Hotel & Spa
Gorski Hotel & Spa stands in the centre of Kopaonik, Serbia’s biggest ski resort, a short walk from the lifts. It is the resort’s spa address: an indoor and an outdoor pool, a sauna world of a dozen rooms, a treatment menu, La Pista restaurant and a fireside lobby bar, with rooms that look out to Pančić’s peak.
Steps from the slopes
Gorski describes itself simply: winter as you imagined it, steps from the slopes. The hotel sits in the resort centre, so you ski back to the door, change, and are in the water within minutes. In summer the same position puts you on the forest trails and meadows of the national park.
The spa and the sauna world
The heart of the hotel is its spa. There is an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, and a sauna world that the hotel lists room by room: a VIP Finnish sauna and VIP steam bath, a salt room, a classic Finnish sauna and a biosauna scented with hay and field flowers, tepidarium warm benches, and a sequence of showers from the Vichy horizontal shower to the Kambala cold shower and an ice fountain, ending on a thermal “Paradise” bed. In summer the hotel also mentions a saltwater pool.
A unique world of sauna and spa facilities, in the hotel’s words, steps from the slopes.
Treatments run from massages to special spa rituals and facials, with products based on plant extracts, in the hotel’s words. The spa publishes its own opening hours and house rules, so check them when you book, especially on busy winter weekends.
Rooms and suites
Rooms are generous for a ski resort. Doubles measure 30–32 m², Superior rooms 32–34 m² with a sofa bed for a child, Deluxe rooms 35 m² and Deluxe family rooms 42 m², all with underfloor heating in the bathroom. Apartments of 55 m² add a separate living room, and the largest measure 100 m². Depending on the room, the windows look to the summit of Pančić, the Konaci and the Malo Jezero trail, and some Superior rooms connect, which suits families.
Eating and drinking
La Pista, the à la carte restaurant, has a panoramic view over the peaks, the forests and the lights of the valley, with international dishes and a wide wine list. The lobby bar, with its fireplace, is the place for the evening glass of wine; breakfast is served with the morning view and traditional ingredients, and the half-board restaurant cooks traditional Serbian dishes from fresh local produce.
Summer at Gorski
Out of season, the hotel turns into a mountain base: padel at 1,770 metres, on one of the highest courts in the world as the hotel puts it, riding lessons for children and families, outdoor yoga, e-bike tours, rafting on the Ibar and a forest api-chamber for quiet rest. Activities are booked at reception a day ahead.
Meetings
Gorski also has a congress centre, which makes it a favourite for conferences and company events in the mountains.
Our advice: book a Superior or Deluxe room facing Pančić, plan your spa time for late afternoon straight off the slopes, and reserve dinner at La Pista for your first night. Families should ask for connecting rooms when booking.
