About Hotel Post Lech
The Post has been the Moosbrugger family’s hotel in the heart of Lech since 1937. It has a 15-metre outdoor pool heated all year, with the Omeshorn as backdrop, indoor pools and a kids’ pool, a sauna oasis, a 6,000 m² Alpine garden, four restaurants and the Bemelmans Bar.
In the heart of Lech
The Post stands in the centre of Lech and has been run by the Moosbrugger family since 1937; its new panorama restaurant was built to mark the family’s 80th anniversary. It is a house of antiques and character, and at the “Post”, as the hotel says, no room is like any other.
Pools and garden
The 15-metre outdoor pool is heated all year, so you swim lengths under the open sky with a view of the Omeshorn and the Ebra Park. Behind it lies a 6,000 m² Alpine garden of native flowers, shrubs and trees, where tea is served in the afternoon in summer. Families have their own floor, with a kids’ pool, a slide and a baby pool.
No room is like any other at the “Post”, in the hotel’s words: local antiques give each its own character.
Sauna oasis and treatments
The sauna, with a view of nature, runs at 90 °C with professional infusions of local herbs and fine woods, and the brine steam bath opens onto an outdoor grotto. The fitness studio has Technogym equipment and Alpine views, with trainers on request, and ten running and Nordic walking trails start from the hotel. Treatments use Cellap Laboratoire from Switzerland and Alpienne, with classic massages and hot stones in several treatment suites. There is also a movement studio, a day spa and the hotel’s own perfumery.
Rooms and suites
Every room and suite is different, furnished in Alpine style with local antiques and loving details.
Eating and drinking
Postblick, the new panorama restaurant, seats house and à la carte guests over the mountains. In winter the hunting-lodge Jägerstube serves creative cooking with the sommelier’s pairings, and the Emostube, named after the artist Emo Henrich, does classic dishes and fondue chinoise on reservation. Half board is served in the Kutscherstube, the house inn. The Bemelmans Bar is named after the writer Ludwig Bemelmans, a regular until the late 1950s, and is busy from après-ski until midnight.
Families
In winter, the Lech-Zürs-Oberlech Kids’ Club teaches children to ski by age and level; in summer the Kids Active programme offers all-day supervision, included for hotel guests.
Our advice: swim in the outdoor pool as the light fades on the Omeshorn, book the Jägerstube for one dinner, and end the night in the Bemelmans Bar.
