Raise, beside Helvellyn, since 1936

About Lake District Ski Club

Founded in 1936, the Lake District Ski Club runs a 360-metre button tow on Raise, next to Helvellyn in the Lake District National Park, with up to nine runs when conditions allow. The tow is an hour’s walk from the mines at Glenridding, so you must be fit and equipped for winter mountains. Membership costs £50 a season by direct debit; guests pay £20 on days when the tow is open to all. There is no hire, tuition or accommodation.
