About Getting to Banff and Lake Louise

Calgary International Airport is the closest airport to Banff, served by Air Canada and WestJet. From there Banff is about 90 minutes on the all-weather, four-lane Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), with Lake Louise a scenic 45 minutes further. Shuttles run from the airport to Banff and Canmore hotels.

By shuttle: Banff Airporter runs door-to-door shuttles between Calgary Airport and Banff, with one stop in Canmore; SkiBig3 packages can include an airport transfer.

In the park: every visitor to Banff National Park needs a Parks Canada entry pass. Roam Transit links Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise, including the 8X Lake Louise/Banff Express, and every SkiBig3 lift ticket includes complimentary ski shuttles from hotels to all three resorts.

In the park: every visitor to Banff National Park needs a Parks Canada entry pass.

Wildlife on the road: if you see animals by the road, Parks Canada asks you to slow down, stay in your vehicle and move on.
