About Getting to Gudauri
Gudauri is about 120 km from Tbilisi, and the national tourism administration puts the drive at around two to two and a half hours, much of it on the E117 highway, which is regularly cleared. The last climb is a serpentine mountain road that needs great care in heavy snow. There is no railway: come by private transfer, taxi or the minibuses (marshrutka) that run several times a day in high season.
