About Parador de Arties
The Parador de Arties occupies the house of Gaspar de Portolà and Aranese buildings of the 14th and 15th centuries in the centre of Arties, seven kilometres from Baqueira Beret. Rooms have sloping ceilings and wooden beams, the spa pool runs indoors and out and is heated in winter, and the restaurant-cocktail bar with its fireplace is a favourite for après-ski. Paradores lists a closing period from 1 March 2027 to 30 October 2028.
An Aranese village house
The Parador sits in the centre of Arties, a mountain village of peaked roofs and narrow cobbled streets, seven kilometres down the valley from Baqueira Beret. Its buildings date from the 14th and 15th centuries, and the rooms keep that character: sloping ceilings, wooden beams and views over the village roofs to the peaks.
The spa pool
The Parador’s pride is its spa pool, which runs from an indoor to an outdoor section and is heated in the winter months, so you can swim out into the cold mountain air. There is also a sauna and a gym, and in summer a seasonal swimming pool and garden loungers.

Rooms
There are standard doubles, duplex rooms and suites, all with a minibar, flat-screen TV and wifi. Pets are welcome under Paradores’ conditions.
Eating and drinking
In winter the Restaurant-Cocktail Bar is the heart of the house: a place for après-ski by the fireplace, with a select cocktail menu, and a dining room for the regional cooking of the Val d’Aran. Book your table ahead in the ski season. The village’s own bars and restaurants are a short walk away.
Before you book
Paradores lists a closing period from 1 March 2027 to 30 October 2028, so this winter, December to February, is the time to stay.
Our advice: ask for a room with village and mountain views, drive up to Baqueira early, and come back for a swim in the heated pool before a cocktail by the fire. Reserve dinner when you book the room.
