About Alta’s Rustler Lodge

Alta’s Rustler Lodge stands at the base of Alta Ski Area, with ski-in/ski-out access to the Collins and Sunnyside lifts and a lodge-only chairlift to bring you home. Its 85 rooms come with breakfast and dinner, and guests have a spa, a large heated outdoor pool, Jacuzzis, a eucalyptus steam room and the Eagle’s Nest Lounge.

At the base of Alta

The Rustler stands at 10380 East Highway 210, at the base of Alta Ski Area, about 45 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. Take your skis from your locker, head out to the Collins or Sunnyside lifts, and at the end of the day ride the Rustler’s own chairlift back to the door. The lodge’s motto is “service above all”.

Spa, pool and steam

Alta’s Rustler Lodge Spa offers treatments inspired by the ski day, steps from the pools. The large heated outdoor pool and the indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis look up to Eagle’s Nest and High Rustler, and the eucalyptus steam room, sauna, showers and changing rooms are next door; these facilities are for Rustler guests only. A morning yoga and stretch class runs daily at 7.15am, included for guests, and the fitness room has mountain views.

Service above all, in the lodge’s words: the cozy atmosphere of a mountain lodge with Alta’s finest amenities.

The rooms

The 85 rooms range from luxury to modest. Superior rooms on the seventh and eighth floors, including five corner rooms, have king or two queen beds with a sofa bed; Wasatch and Wasatch Deluxe rooms sit on floors four to six, and Cecret rooms on the lower floors. The Owner’s Suite has a heated private deck with a full mountain view and a small kitchen, and two bunk rooms sleep six. The Albion rooms and the Small Bronson Suite are in the original wing, up two flights of stairs with no lift.

Eating and drinking

Daily rates include a full breakfast buffet (7.15–9.45am) and dinner, which needs a reservation; Chef Ed McCall has led the kitchen since 1989. Lunch is served noon–1.45pm at extra cost and is open to outside guests. The Eagle’s Nest Lounge & Bar opens 3–11pm on weekdays and from noon at weekends for lodge and dinner guests, with appetisers at après included. Room service is available for a fee, except in the original wing.

Ski services

The Rustler Powder House Ski Shop handles rentals and tuning, and lockers are included. Because demand is high, the lodge takes advance reservation requests for the following season and confirms them in June.

Our advice: ask for a Superior room on the upper floors for the view, end the day in the outdoor pool and steam room, and send your reservation request early.
