Skigaarden
Ski in from Tinden and Roni · In depth
About Skigaarden
Skigaarden sits in the heart of Hemsedal Skisenter along Holdeskarveien, with skiing in and out from the Tinden and Roni lifts and the cross-country tracks of Holdeskaret close by. Its apartments of timber and stone have equipped kitchens, living areas and balconies facing the slopes or the peaks, and downstairs are Storstugu, Dagligstugu, Omakase and a coffee bar.
In the middle of the ski centre
Skigaarden stands high in the Norwegian mountains, in the heart of Hemsedal Skisenter, with alpine slopes in every direction. In winter you ski in and out from Tindenheisen and Roniheisen, and the cross-country tracks of Holdeskaret are just behind.
The apartments
The apartments are built of solid timber and stone in a Nordic design, each with an equipped kitchen, a living area and a private balcony facing the slopes or the surrounding peaks. Ski lockers and underground parking are included.
Norway’s ultimate place for skiers and mountain folk, in its own words.
Eating and drinking
Four places to eat share the building. Storstugu, the main à la carte restaurant, is elegant, simple and informal, grilling local ingredients, and turns into lively après-ski with a DJ in the evenings. Dagligstugu bakes Italian-style pizza in a stone oven, alongside hearty Norwegian classics and pastries, and suits families. Omakase is a chef-led tasting of fresh fish with a Japanese influence, booked in advance and usually closed in summer. The coffee bar grinds fresh coffee to go with warm pastries.
Our advice: ask for a balcony facing the slopes, book Omakase before you travel, and use Dagligstugu for an easy family supper after the last run.
