About Hotel Hermitage
At the Hermitage, among the peaks of the Matterhorn in Breuil-Cervinia, rooms are furnished with wood, fine fabrics, antiques and local craftsmanship, and the hotel has been personally run for more than 50 years. Its spa has a heated indoor pool fed by Cervinia’s own springs, and La Chandelle grills meat over an open fire beneath windows framing the Matterhorn.
Among the peaks
The Hermitage stands in Breuil-Cervinia, among the peaks of the Matterhorn, and in 2025 it celebrated fifty years (1975–2025). It has been personally run throughout, and it shows: antique furniture, paintings and pieces by local artisans fill the house, and many rooms open onto a terrace facing the mountains of the Alpine arc.
The spa
The indoor pool is heated and fitted with whirlpools, and its water comes straight from Cervinia’s own springs, as the hotel puts it. Around it are a sauna and a Turkish bath, a relaxation area where you drink teas of mountain herbs, and a Technogym fitness room with mountain views. Tailor-made face and body treatments for men and women complete the menu.

Rooms and suites
Rooms come as Classic (for two) and Deluxe (for three), then Junior Suites, Prestige Suites for up to four and Master Suites for two. Families can take apartments and connecting rooms for up to six.
Eating and drinking
La Chandelle is the hotel’s five-star restaurant, elegant, with large windows framing the Matterhorn. The kitchen joins Aosta Valley and Piedmont traditions to French and Mediterranean ideas, cooks meat on a large open grill and offers both an à la carte and a daily menu. The list runs to about 1,000 wines, with the house’s own grappa. There is also the Bistrot L’Hermitage, the bar and the cellar.
Our advice: book a Junior or Prestige suite with a terrace, swim after skiing while the light goes pink on the Matterhorn, and let the sommelier choose from the cellar at La Chandelle.
