About Hotel Lac Salin SPA & Mountain Resort
Lac Salin stands at 1,816 metres on Via Saroch, facing the Carosello side of Livigno. Its 1,200 m² spa is built of mountain wood and stone, with an indoor pool, a brine pool, saunas and two relaxation rooms, and its restaurant Stua da Legn was the town’s first vegetarian and vegan restaurant.
On the Carosello side
Lac Salin sits at 1,816 metres on Via Saroch, on the Carosello side of the valley. The 2026 Winter Olympic snowboard and freestyle events were held right in front of the hotel, and its spa, in its own words, is entirely dedicated to Alpine wellness, with mountain herbs in the treatments and in the sauna infusions.
The Lac Salin Spa
The spa covers 1,200 m², finished in wood and stone from the mountains. The indoor pool is full of light, with panoramic views, massage beds, a counter-current and a whirlpool; beside it is a brine pool with iodine, potassium and magnesium. The sauna area has a Finnish sauna at 80–85 °C, a hammam at 45–50 °C and a bio sauna at 50 °C, scented each day with a different Alpine plant.
“Arrive. Breathe. Recharge,” in the hotel’s words.
New for 2026 is the wet area: a Kneipp path with water at different temperatures and heights, experience showers, an ice fountain, an Alpine herbal bath and a herbal-tea corner. There are two relaxation rooms in local wood: Onde di montagna, with heated water beds, and Culla nel bosco, with floating loungers and hanging chairs. Massages and beauty treatments, a private spa and a day spa complete the offer.
Rooms and suites
Superior and Superior Sun rooms measure 28 m², Deluxe rooms 35 m² with oak floors, and Prestige rooms 45 m² with a loggia. The suites run from 42–64 m²; the Suite Paradisin (59 m²) has a separate bedroom and a view of a glacier, and the three Spa Suites (40 m²) are designed for wellness lovers. Family rooms of 50 m² have two rooms.
Eating and drinking
Stua da Legn is the hotel’s fine natural cuisine restaurant and was Livigno’s first vegetarian and vegan restaurant: “entirely vegan by vocation, not by restriction”, as the hotel puts it. It was created by Andrea Fugnanesi, with Domenico Cassanelli as resident chef, and serves dinner from 7pm to 9pm, closed on Tuesdays. Half board follows a wellness cuisine of antipasti and dessert buffets around a short à la carte menu, and the hotel also has a Panoramic Fondue room and its own wine cellar.
Our advice: book one of the three Spa Suites, try the brine pool and the new Kneipp path at the end of the ski day, and reserve a table at Stua da Legn even if you are not vegan.
