About Iglu-Dorf Zugspitze
The Iglu-Dorf sits on the Zugspitze plateau at almost 2,600 metres, a short walk from Restaurant Sonnalpin, reached by cogwheel train or cable car. A night includes a cheese fondue, a guided night hike, the whirlpool and sauna and a bed of expedition sleeping bags in an artist-designed igloo, with breakfast at Sonnalpin.
A night in the snow
The igloo village is built each winter on the Zugspitze plateau, at almost 2,600 metres. You reach it by the cogwheel train from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Grainau or Eibsee, or by the Zugspitze cable car and the Gletscherbahn, then walk a short way from Restaurant Sonnalpin.
Whirlpool and sauna
The village has its own whirlpool and sauna in the snow, so you can warm up under the stars before bed.

The igloos
Each igloo is designed by artists. There are multi-bed rooms for families, friends and groups, single rooms, suites and a romantic igloo. You sleep on thermal mats in expedition sleeping bags rated to minus 40 °C, provided on site.
Eating
The evening begins with a cheese fondue and a guided night hike through the snow, and breakfast is served at Restaurant Sonnalpin.
Our advice: book the romantic igloo or a suite for two, wear thermal layers to bed, and stay for first lifts on the glacier in the morning.
