About Le Grand Bellevue
Le Grand Bellevue began life as a cure house and reopened after a full renovation in December 2013. It stands where the car-free Promenade begins, with 57 rooms and suites, Le Grand Spa across 3,000 m² and LEONARD’s restaurant. The winter season runs from 18 December 2026 to 29 March 2027.
At the start of the Promenade
Le Grand Bellevue stands at the entrance to the car-free village, in its own park, so you walk out of the door and straight onto Gstaad’s Promenade. It began as a cure house, reopened after a complete renovation in December 2013 and is privately owned. The winter season runs from 18 December 2026 to 29 March 2027.
Le Grand Spa
The spa covers 3,000 m² and was recently renovated. Its Thermal Oasis has 17 wellness zones: a herbal sauna, a hay sauna, a Finnish sauna, an infrared sauna, a laconium, a Turkish steam bath and a salt inhalation grotto, with a swimming pool and an outdoor relaxation pool. There are yoga and Pilates rooms, a fitness area and a hair salon.
“You have arrived,” in the hotel’s words.
The spa and fitness area open from 8am to 9pm, the Thermal Oasis from 9.30am to 9pm and treatments from 10am to 8pm. Children have splash hours in the pool every day from 2pm to 4pm.
Rooms and suites
Chic Rooms measure 32 m² and look over the forest; Deluxe Chic Rooms are 40 m² with garden and mountain views. Suites begin with the 57 m² Tower Suite and climb through the Suite Sommet (62 m²), Suite Etoile (71 m²), Suite Chalet (73 m²) and Suite Panorama (94 m²) to the Suite Le Grand Bellevue: 180 m², for four to eight guests, with views over forest, village, garden and mountains.
Eating and drinking
LEONARD’s is the main dining room, serving elegant international cuisine from local producers, open for breakfast and dinner. The Bar runs an all-day bistro menu of sharing plates and homemade pasta, The Lounge serves afternoon tea, and the hotel adds a Sushi Bar, Le Petit Chalet for Swiss fondue in a wooden cabin, and LEONARD’s Cellar.
Families and skiing
There is a children’s playroom and an in-house ski shop, so the morning starts in the hotel and ends on the slopes of the Gstaad ski area.
Our advice: ask for a suite with village and mountain views, spend an afternoon in the Thermal Oasis between the hay sauna and the salt grotto, and keep one evening for fondue at Le Petit Chalet.
