About Milka Boutique Hotel
Milka stands on Lake Jasna at the foot of the road to the Vršič pass, a short walk from Kranjska Gora. It is a hotel of only six rooms, three suites and three luxury doubles, all looking over the lake to the Julian Alps, built around Restaurant Milka and chef David Žefran’s regional cooking.
On Lake Jasna
Milka sits on the shore of Lake Jasna, in the Julian Alps near the Vršič pass, with Kranjska Gora, in the hotel’s words, the closest social hub. Every room looks over the lake and the mountains, and the alpine architecture is part of the experience.
The sauna
Wellness here is private: a Finnish sauna for two, available throughout the day to overnight guests and booked by the session in advance. The Garden Suite has its own outdoor hot tub. Cosmetics are handmade in Slovenia from natural ingredients.
A great product should not be over-manipulated, in the words of chef David Žefran.
Six rooms
The Garden Suite measures 50 m², with a 35 m² private terrace and garden and the outdoor hot tub. The Rock Suite, 45 m², has a freestanding bath and a small patio and is the one room that takes pets; the Alpine Suite, 58 m², has a balcony with a wide view. The luxury doubles are Pine, 23 m², and Cone, 30 m², both with two balconies, and Lake, 18 m². All have king-size beds, breakfast is included, and guests must be 12 or older.
Restaurant Milka
Chef David Žefran cooks a regional menu that follows the seasons: local suppliers, conifer branches, wild berries and herbs foraged from the high pastures, and produce preserved in the larder for the long winter. The restaurant is small, serving lunch and dinner; book your table when you book your room.
Our advice: book the Garden Suite for the hot tub on the terrace, reserve the sauna for the end of your ski day, and plan your stay around dinner at Milka.
