About Aspen Meadows Resort
Aspen Meadows Resort sits on the Aspen Institute campus in the town’s West End, designed by the Bauhaus artist Herbert Bayer. Its 98 suites have floor-to-ceiling windows, and guests have a health centre with steam rooms, an outdoor saline lap pool and hot tub, and West End Social.
On the Aspen Institute campus
Aspen Meadows Resort is rooted in the history of the Aspen Institute and its campus was designed by Herbert Bayer, the Bauhaus artist who shaped modern Aspen; you can follow a walking art tour and visit the Bayer Center. The resort is in the quiet West End, with views of Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain and Tiehack.
Health centre and pool
There is no spa as such (the concierge suggests local options), but the Health Center is generous. It opens 7am–9pm daily, with TRX, cardio and weights, a Peloton bike, steam rooms, an outdoor heated saline lap pool, a hot tub and a half-court gymnasium for basketball. The lap pool needs a reservation and the hot tub is first come, first served. Three Sages runs yoga, meditation and breath-work, and Normatec recovery suits can be rented.
A resort experience that is simultaneously exclusive and inclusive, in the hotel’s words, rooted in the Aspen Institute.
The suites
All 98 accommodations are suites, newly reimagined with Bauhaus lines and floor-to-ceiling windows. Junior suites facing the river or the mountain measure 550 sq ft, Deluxe One-Bedroom suites 700 sq ft with a separate living room and wet bar, and Deluxe Two-Bedroom Mountain Suites 1,200 sq ft, most with a patio or balcony.
Eating and drinking
West End Social, newly redesigned, has 270-degree views of the mountains and a menu built around shareable plates. Room service is available daily; the resort’s pages give hours of 11am–8pm on one page and 7am–9pm on another, so check on arrival.
Ski services
A ski shuttle to Buttermilk is included for guests, with another to downtown Aspen, and the team arranges lift tickets and lessons. Ski Butlers deliver rental equipment to your suite or to the slopes, 7am–8pm daily.
Our advice: choose a Deluxe One-Bedroom Mountain Suite for the view, swim in the saline lap pool after skiing, and walk the Bayer art trail on a sunny afternoon.
