About Hotel Alpenrock

Hotel Alpenrock is a contemporary hotel of 205 rooms and suites at the base of Peak 9, a short walk from the Quicksilver SuperChair and Main Street. It has outdoor hot tubs, a ski valet with a rental shop, Edwin restaurant, The Carter lobby bar and the Canary Speakeasy, and the Sky Parlour on the top floor.

At the base of Peak 9

Alpenrock stands at the base of Peak 9: walk out of the front doors, cross the street and you are at the Quicksilver SuperChair, about 650 ft away, with the Beaver Run SuperChair the next lift over. AdventureRock, the ski and gear valet on the second floor, prepares, stores, warms and dries your equipment from 7am to 8pm, and Breck Sports has a rental and retail shop alongside. Main Street is a short walk.

Hot tubs and fitness

There is no spa, but the outdoor hot tubs, set in a cosy, secluded courtyard and open all year from 7am to 10pm, are the hotel’s après-ski ritual. The fitness centre has mountain views, cardio machines, weights and strength equipment.

Beneath the peaks, beyond the ordinary, in the hotel’s words.

Rooms and suites

The 205 rooms mix natural materials, contemporary art and modern finishes. King rooms measure 350–450 sq ft and deluxe king rooms with a sofa sleeper 395–530 sq ft; two-king rooms are 450–500 sq ft and two-king junior suites 500–600 sq ft; one-bedroom suites reach 950 sq ft. The Sky Parlour fills the top of the south tower: a four-bedroom residence of 2,946 sq ft for up to 14, with views of the Tenmile Range, freestanding tubs, a private dining room and its own concierge. Dogs are welcome.

Eating and drinking

Edwin is the restaurant, with pizzas from the open-fire oven and Colorado-inspired dishes, all prepared in-house, and a private dining room. The Carter, the lobby bar, gathers guests around the fire for cocktails, bison short ribs and smashburgers, with happy hour from 3pm to 5pm. Canary Speakeasy, behind a velvet curtain and named for the miners’ canaries, serves bespoke cocktails with live entertainment from Wednesday to Saturday evenings. A coffee bar and bistro serves breakfast, and there is a 24-hour grab-and-go.

Our advice: ask for a mountain-view room, leave your skis with AdventureRock, and book the Canary for a late cocktail. For a family reunion, the Sky Parlour is unique in town.
