About Courchevel: the back story
Courchevel is not one resort but six villages strung up a single valley in the Tarentaise, all on the same lifts into Les 3 Vallées. Where you stay sets the tone of the week far more than the skiing does.
Six villages
At the top, Courchevel 1850 is the resort the world knows: the Jardin Alpin, the palace hotels and the altiport. Moriond, a little lower, is sunnier and more relaxed, and Courchevel Village sits between them with direct lifts. Further down the valley, Le Praz and La Tania are quieter, wooded and better value, and Saint-Bon is the original village at the foot of it all.
The skiing
Courchevel has about 150 km of its own pistes, and its lifts connect to the rest of Les 3 Vallées, about 600 km in all, with Méribel, Val Thorens and the Belleville valley beyond. The 3 Vallées links open on 5 December 2026.
Courchevel 1850, Moriond, Village, Le Praz, La Tania and Saint-Bon: six villages, one valley.
Every budget
The same lifts serve every village, so a hotel in La Tania or Le Praz puts the whole valley within reach for far less than a night in 1850. Families often choose Moriond or La Tania for their gentle slopes and calmer evenings.
Our advice: choose the village first, then the hotel. It changes the whole week.
