Anemolia stands on the outskirts of Arachova, at the first kilometre of the road to Delphi, about two and a half hours by car from Athens and close to the Parnassos ski centre. It has a heated indoor pool with views of Mount Parnassus, a sauna, chalet-style rooms with fireplaces, a buffet restaurant of regional cooking and a fireside lobby bar.

Between Arachova and Delphi

Anemolia sits just outside Arachova on the road to Delphi, so the ancient sanctuary is a short drive one way and the Parnassos ski centre the other. Athens is about two and a half hours away by car.

Pool and sauna

The indoor pool looks out to Mount Parnassus and is heated from late October to late May, to an average of 27.2 °C in winter, for lap swimming after a day outdoors. The sauna, warm and scented, is the place to ease your legs after skiing.

Rooms

There are six room types. Mini Suite Chalets have a double bed and a traditional fireplace; Family Chalets sit in the attic; Executive Doubles and Executive Suites have a private balcony or terrace, and Family Executive Suites sleep four. The Standard Triple rooms look over the Delphi valley.

Eating and drinking

The main restaurant serves buffets in two dining rooms, with locally sourced food from the Parnassus region, cooked to mix tradition with contemporary taste. The lobby bar, with traditional wood trim and a wide fireplace, looks out over the Delphi landscape.

Our advice: book a Mini Suite Chalet for the fireplace, ski in the morning, visit Delphi in the afternoon light, and finish with a swim and a drink by the lobby fire.
