The Garmischer Hof, on Chamonixstraße in the centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is a certified organic hotel run by the family in its fourth generation. Under its roof is the 400 m² Alpisana Spa, with a sauna facing the mountains and an open-air balcony, and downstairs a brewpub pours unfiltered beer straight from the tank.

Organic in the town centre

The Garmischer Hof stands at Chamonixstraße 10, in the centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is a certified organic hotel and a member of BIO HOTELS, so breakfast and brunch are certified organic, with fresh baking, Murnau coffee, cheeses and sausages from an organic butcher.

The Alpisana Spa

The spa occupies 400 m² under the roof. There is a Finnish sauna with a mountain view, a steam bath under a starry sky, a whirlpool with local herbs and a Kneipp basin with a drinking fountain. Rest areas, a meditation tower and an open-air balcony look across the Alpine panorama. Treatments include natural-cosmetic facials, hot-stone massage and a Werdenfels herbal-stamp massage. The spa opens from 14.00 to 22.00.

Eating and drinking

The hotel brews its own beer and serves it unfiltered from the tank to the bar, with a beer garden in summer. The kitchen uses organic, local produce and caters for vegan, vegetarian and allergy-friendly diets. Breakfast runs from 7.00 to 10.00, earlier on request.

Our advice: book the spa for late afternoon after the slopes, watch the sunset from the open-air balcony, and finish with a beer from the tank downstairs.
