The Radisson Blu at Cota 1400 occupies a building of 1939, once under the patronage of the Royal House of Romania, restored and extended as a ski-in, ski-out resort above Sinaia with views of the Bucegi. It has 68 rooms and suites, the Forêt Kitsune Spa with indoor and outdoor pools, COCON restaurant with its panoramic terrace, an après-ski lounge and a bar and cigar lounge.

A royal-era house at Cota 1400

The hotel stands at Cota 1400 on Sinaia’s ski area, with ski-in and ski-out access and wide views of the Bucegi Mountains. Its building dates from 1939 and was once under the patronage of the Royal House of Romania; it has been restored and expanded with solid wood, stone and warm tones. The Cota 2000 gondola, Peleș Castle and the Casino are each about two kilometres away.

The Forêt Kitsune Spa

The spa is designed like a luxury alpine chalet, with green marble reception desks, solid wood panelling, a Calacatta marble ice fountain and a fire chimney, and takes its theme from the Kitsune, the fox spirit of Japanese folklore. There is a private Moroccan hammam for two, a sauna and steam bath, a salt room, sensory showers, an indoor pool with hydrotherapy jets and a heated outdoor pool facing the mountains.

Treatments pair Japanese rituals with OSKIA products: the 75-minute First Tail Awakening, with a yuzu scrub and tsubaki-oil massage, Yūgen and Inari rituals, and a rose and oud hammam ritual. The 50 m² fitness club, on the spa terrace, has Technogym equipment and a glass roof that opens. Spa bookings run 12:00–20:00 on weekdays and 09:00–20:00 at weekends.

Rooms and suites

There are 68 rooms and suites, all facing the mountains. Standard rooms measure 25 m², or 21 m² with a terrace; Premium rooms 30 m², or 28 m² with a terrace; the suites 44 m²; and the Presidential Suite 89 m².

Eating and drinking

COCON is the restaurant, with seasonal cooking and a panoramic terrace. STUDIO 1400 is the après-ski lounge and terrace, and TONIC Bar & Cigar Lounge is the evening room; in-room dining is available.

Our advice: book a Premium room with a terrace, ski straight back to the door, then swim in the heated outdoor pool as the light fades. Reserve the private hammam for two, and dinner at COCON.
