The cathedral, St Mark’s Church, the Lotrščak Tower, the Klovićevi dvori gallery and the Museum of Zagreb are all close by, and Sljeme, Zagreb’s ski mountain, is a short drive to the north.

The main hotel has 51 double rooms in Standard and Superior categories, some Superior rooms with a balcony, and two junior suites with hydromassage tubs, one with a terrace. The Academia annex adds two double suites and a two-level family room with a terrace. Wifi is included.

Eating and arriving
Food is made in-house by the hotel’s cooks and pastry chefs, with produce from small local producers. A two-level underground garage connects by lift to reception, a real advantage in the old town.
Our advice: book the junior suite with the terrace, park in the garage, drive up to Sljeme for a morning’s skiing, and spend the evening on Tkalčićeva.
