About Hotel Gletscherblick, St. Jakob

Hotel Gletscherblick, in the quiet St. Jakob district of St. Anton, grew from the small guesthouse that Paula and Robert founded in 1966 and is run by the Jehle-Kathrein family in its third generation. It has an indoor pool and an Alpine sauna world, and its six-table Alpin Gourmet Stube, under Paul Markovics, holds one MICHELIN star (2026).

A family house in St. Jakob

The Gletscherblick stands on St. Jakober Dorfstraße, in the quieter St. Jakob district of St. Anton am Arlberg. Paula and Robert opened a small guesthouse here in 1966, and three generations of the Jehle-Kathrein family have grown it into a four-star superior hotel, which marks its 60th year in 2026.

Alpin Spa and Alpin Vital

The indoor pool, 12.5 by 5 metres, has massage seats, air-bubble loungers, a counter-current and leg jets, and opens from 7.00 to 19.00; children are warmly welcome. Around it are a wooden rest room, a panorama room with mountain views and a terrace that opens to the garden.

Uncompromising quality and a relaxed crossover of styles and flavours, in the hotel’s words.

The Alpin Vital sauna area opens from 15.00 to 19.00: an Alm sauna of up to 90 °C, a herbal sauna, an aroma steam bath and a brine steam bath, a stone-pine infrared cabin and a salt-stone grotto, with an ice crusher, a Kneipp foot bath and rest rooms with water beds and a fresh-air terrace. Guests aged 15 and over have access, and younger teenagers may join with their parents. Massages are available, and there is a fitness room downstairs.

Rooms, suites and apartments

Rooms and suites have mountain views and a quiet guarantee. They run from the small Bergnestl and the Bergkristall doubles to the Bergliebe and south-facing Bergglück rooms, and the Bergjuwel, Gletscherblick, Tower and Alpine suites, the last with old wood and a tiled stove. Families have the gabled Family Suite and two-storey Family Tower Suite. In the Landhaus, the Schwalbennest apartment measures 60 m² and the Schmuckkastl about 160 m², and there is also a chalet.

Eating and drinking

The Alpin Gourmet Stube is a small room of six tables, where head chef Paul Markovics cooks a modern Alpine menu that changes each month; it holds one MICHELIN star (MICHELIN Guide Austria 2026). It opens from 19.00, Tuesday to Saturday in winter and Thursday to Saturday in summer, for hotel guests and visitors who book ahead. Sophia, the sommelier, recommends from a list of Austrian and international wines. Hotel guests are looked after on full board, with a breakfast buffet, an afternoon snack and a five- or six-course dinner.

Our advice: book a Tower or Alpine suite, reserve the Gourmet Stube for your first evening (with six tables it fills fast), and save the sauna for after the last run.
