About Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail stands at the front door of Vail Village, with a guest-only ski Chalet in the village for ski-in, ski-out days. It offers a newly renovated spa with 13 treatment rooms, a heated outdoor pool open all year, generous rooms with fireplaces and Private Residences of up to six bedrooms.

At the front door to Vail Village

The resort sits at the western edge of Vail Village, a short stroll from the restaurants and shops. In winter its full-service Chalet, the guest-only ski lounge in the heart of the village, gives you ski-in, ski-out access, with a concierge team for rentals, lessons, maps and snow reports. In summer the paved recreational paths, more than 50 miles of them, run out along the Gore Range by bike.

The spa and the pool

The spa has been newly renovated, with 13 treatment rooms and two couples’ suites, new lounges and dressing rooms, and a Relaxation Garden. Separate men’s and women’s areas each have a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and relaxation lounge, and there is a cool plunge and a slumber room. The menu runs from massages and facials to body treatments and signature rituals, with a barbershop and a salon. The hot tubs, sauna, steam room and cold plunge are open from 8am to 8pm, and treatments from 9am to 6pm.

The largest guest rooms in Vail Village, in the hotel’s words, with gas-burning stone fireplaces.

Outside, the heated pool sits in a sunken courtyard and is open every day of every season, 7am to 9pm, for registered hotel guests only, with loungers and two spa tubs. The fitness centre, with windows onto the pool terrace, is open 24 hours for hotel guests.

Rooms, suites and residences

Every guest room, from Resort to Peak, measures 575 sq ft, and most open onto a furnished balcony or terrace, with gas-burning stone fireplaces. The Executive Suite is 842 sq ft and the One-Bedroom Suite 1,017 sq ft. Specialty suites, from the 1,065 sq ft Crestone and Maroon one-bedroom suites to the 1,660 sq ft Blanca Presidential Suite and the 1,842 sq ft Pyramid three-bedroom suite, include in-room breakfast, laundry and a stocked bar. The Private Residences, up to six bedrooms, have full kitchens and views of Vail Mountain, and suit several generations travelling together.

Eating and drinking

Tavernetta Vail is the resort’s Italian restaurant, also serving brunch. The Remedy is the lively bar, with floor-to-ceiling mountain views, live music, a heated patio with firepits and après-ski all year round; its whiskey tastings are worth booking. There is a pool bar, the Speyside Café for coffee and pastries, and in-room dining, and the hotel’s Haute Chocolate and s’mores by the pool-terrace fire are a winter ritual.

Families

Children are well looked after: ski and snowboard lessons through the concierge, storytime and creative arts, a teen lounge, holiday events, childproofed rooms and kids’ robes. Meals for children under five at Tavernetta Vail and The Remedy are included for hotel guests, and a shuttle runs around Vail Village.

Our advice: book a Premier or Peak room for the balcony and fireplace, swim in the courtyard pool as the snow falls, and reserve Tavernetta for your first night. Use the Chalet every morning: it turns a village hotel into a ski-in, ski-out one.
