About The Sebastian Vail

The Sebastian – Vail is an 84-room boutique hotel with 37 private residences in the heart of Vail Village, a Timbers Resorts property. It brings together Bloom Spa, a year-round heated pool, Zuma Vail and The Gambit Bar, with a private slopeside Base Camp at Gondola One for ski-in, ski-out days.

Contemporary Vail Village

The Sebastian is the village’s contemporary address: clean-lined interiors and a private collection of works by renowned Hispanic artists in the public spaces and every guest room. Base Camp, the hotel’s private slopeside shop at the foot of Gondola One, is a short five to ten-minute walk, and the Adventure Concierge in the lobby fits your rentals and valets them there, so the skis are waiting on the snow.

Bloom Spa and the pool

Bloom Spa takes its cue from the mountain lifestyle, with high-altitude adjustment massages, custom and oxygen facials and scrubs, and couples’ treatments. Treatments include use of the locker rooms, sauna, steam room and relaxation spaces. Spa hours change with the season, so check when you book; for day-of appointments and couples’ massages, call the spa directly.

Signature spa treatments and high-altitude therapy at Bloom Spa, in the hotel’s words.

The heated pool and hot tubs are open year-round, with mountain views and poolside dining, and there is a fitness centre.

Rooms and residences

Luxury Interior and Luxury Plaza rooms measure 420 sq ft, with one king or two queens. The Executive One-Bedroom Suite is 840 sq ft and the Executive Two-Bedroom Suite 1,260 sq ft, each with a separate living area. The residential suites add gourmet kitchens and balconies with views of Vail: one bedroom over 1,100–1,200 sq ft, two over 1,400–1,600 sq ft, three over 1,600–1,800 sq ft and four over 1,800–2,100 sq ft.

Eating and drinking

Zuma Vail, on the upper level, brings the contemporary Japanese izakaya to the mountains, with sushi and robata counters, a lounge with a DJ booth, premium sake and Japanese whisky; it is Zuma’s first alpine destination in the United States and opens for the winter season. The Gambit Bar on the lobby level pours artful cocktails with small plates, with live music from Vail Valley musicians in winter. Breakfast is served daily for hotel guests from 7am to 11am, and in-room dining covers breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Families

Children have a Game Room with arcade and board games and a Tykes Room for ages four and under, and the hotel offers seasonal children’s programmes. In summer Base Camp rents e-bikes, cruisers and mountain bikes, with guided rides up Vail Pass.

Our advice: book a residential suite if you are more than two, reserve Zuma before you travel, and let Base Camp handle the skis. A late-afternoon swim, then cocktails and live music at The Gambit, is the perfect Vail evening.
