Limelight Aspen is a downtown hotel a short walk from Aspen Mountain and the Silver Queen Gondola, run by Aspen Skiing Company. It offers light-filled rooms with wet bars, a heated outdoor pool and hot tubs in a courtyard, a full breakfast each morning and live music in the Limelight Lounge.

Downtown, by the gondola

Limelight Aspen sits in downtown Aspen, a short walk from Aspen Mountain and the Silver Queen Gondola, with shops, galleries and restaurants outside the door. The hotel sees itself as the boutique alternative to the town’s five-star hotels: the same access to the mountain, none of the formality. It is about ten minutes from the airport.

Pool, hot tubs and recovery

There is no spa, but the heated outdoor pool and hot tubs sit in a landscaped courtyard, open year-round from 9am to 10pm. Guests can borrow Therabody recovery devices, and the sunlit Fitness Room, with a Peloton, cardio machines and free weights, opens 6am–9pm.

The boutique alternative to Aspen’s five-star hotels, in the hotel’s words: the same access to the mountain, none of the formality.

Rooms

Rooms are generous and full of natural light, with views of Aspen Mountain or the town, plush bedding and a culinary nook with a wet bar and microwave.

Eating and drinking

The Limelight Lounge is the hotel’s social hub. A full breakfast buffet runs 7–10am daily, and après and dinner, American bistro cooking with an Italian twist, run 3–10pm, with live local music Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm to 8pm. In-room delivery comes from the Lounge, and two rooftop terraces with sofas and dining tables are made for sunset drinks.

Included and extras

A daily guest amenity fee covers airport transfers, in-town transport, ski storage, breakfast, wifi and the seasonal adventure programme, including snowshoes in winter and cruiser bikes in summer. Dogs have been welcome for more than 40 years, for a nightly cleaning fee.

Our advice: Limelight Aspen suits skiers who want a lively, easy base in town; take your après on the rooftop terrace and stay for the live music in the Lounge.
