About Hotel Savoy

Hotel Savoy has stood in the centre of Špindlerův Mlýn since 1881, a short walk from the slopes and the trails of the Krkonoše; Franz Kafka is among the guests of its past. The Mountain Serenity Spa has a sauna and relax zone included for hotel guests, a private whirlpool and massages with Mcely Bouquet cosmetics, and the SAVOYA restaurant cooks modern international food with Czech touches.

Since 1881

The Savoy has welcomed guests in the centre of Špindlerův Mlýn since 1881, among them film stars and the writer Franz Kafka. It stands a short walk from the ski slopes and the wild nature of the Krkonoše, Czechia’s highest mountains, with rooms looking over the town, the river and the Svatý Petr slope.

Mountain Serenity Spa

The spa is small and intimate. Its Sauna & Relax zone is included for hotel guests, and a private whirlpool, scented with essential oils, is booked by one couple at a time. Massages, for tired muscles after skiing or hiking, use Mcely Bouquet organic cosmetics, mixed by hand in small batches at the Chateau Mcely laboratory. The spa opens 2–9pm on weekdays and 11am–9pm at weekends; children under 12 may come in until 6pm.

More mountains, fewer worries, in the hotel’s words.

Rooms and suites

Classic and Superior rooms measure 30 m², some Superior rooms with a balcony; Deluxe rooms, 35 m², look over the centre and the river, and the Deluxe with balcony is the guests’ favourite. Junior Apartments of 50–55 m² face the Svatý Petr slope or sit in the attic; the Family Apartment has 65 m², the Apartment with Mountain Views 85 m² and the Savoy Apartment 110 m². The Savoy Royal Suite, 175 m² for up to eight, is the largest.

Eating and drinking

SAVOYA, under chef Michal Húska, cooks seasonal modern international food with subtle Czech touches, with a wine list of European and Czech estates and rare bottles chosen by the sommelier, and a tasting menu with wine pairing. It opens noon–10pm Sunday to Thursday and until 11pm on Friday and Saturday. The Hennessy Bar, looking to Svatý Petr, pours champagne and XO cognac.

Our advice: book a Deluxe room with balcony or a Junior Apartment facing the slope, reserve the private whirlpool for the evening, and keep one night for the tasting menu at SAVOYA.
