About Les Grands Montets Hôtel & Spa

Les Grands Montets Hotel & Spa stands at the foot of the Grands Montets ski area, cross-country trails and hiking paths, between Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi, the Argentière glacier and the Aiguille du Chardonnet, ten minutes’ walk from Argentière. Its spa has a 10 x 5 m indoor pool, a sauna, a steam room and an outdoor hot tub facing Mont Blanc.

At the foot of the Grands Montets

The hotel sits in a calm spot at the foot of the Grands Montets, with the cross-country tracks and trails on the doorstep and views to Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi, the Argentière glacier and the Aiguille du Chardonnet. The village of Argentière is ten minutes’ walk; Chamonix is ten minutes’ drive.

The spa

The spa has an indoor pool of 10 by 5 metres, a sauna, a steam room and an outdoor hot tub facing Mont Blanc. It opens daily from 7am to 9pm, with the hot tub, sauna and steam room available on request before 4pm. Massages range from relaxing to after-sport, with reflexology, and there is a small fitness area with bikes, a cross-trainer and a treadmill.

A magnificent setting immersed in absolute calm, in the hotel’s words.

Rooms and suites

Superior rooms are in a cosy chalet style, each with a balcony or terrace, facing the Chardonnet to the north or Mont Blanc to the south; standard rooms are the oldest, vintage but comfortable, and connecting rooms and duplexes suit families. The Junior Suites are split over two levels, with a living room and balcony over the valley and Mont Blanc and a whirlpool bath upstairs. The two south-facing suites have wide terraces facing Mont Blanc, one with a hot tub and one with a freestanding bath; a 55 m² suite in the style of a Canadian cabin has two bedrooms and its own sauna. Rooms have no air conditioning.

Eating and drinking

There is no restaurant in the hotel: the bar serves snacks, cheese and charcuterie platters and pizzas, and the team books tables in Argentière, ten minutes’ walk, or in Chamonix.

Our advice: book a south-facing suite with a hot tub, ski the Grands Montets from the door, and walk down to Argentière for dinner.
