About Les Aiglons Hotel, Chamonix
Les Aiglons is a four-star hotel at the gateway to the Aiguille du Midi, with 107 rooms looking to the mountains. Its Deep Nature spa has a heated outdoor pool facing Mont Blanc, a hot tub, a sauna and a hammam, included for hotel guests, and its restaurant Casa Nonna marries Haute-Savoie and Italy.
At the gateway to the Aiguille du Midi
Les Aiglons stands at the edge of Chamonix’s centre, two minutes from the Aiguille du Midi cable car, built for climbers, skiers and families alike. Its decor plays on wood panelling and leather, with green and gold accents drawn from the relief of the mountains.
The spa
The spa is run by Deep Nature and designed like a traditional Haute-Savoie chalet. Outside, the heated pool has a wide view of Mont Blanc; inside are a hot tub, a sauna and a hammam, and a relaxation area serving herbal tea from local plants. The pool, hot tub, sauna and hammam are open daily from 10am to 8pm and are included for hotel guests; massages and treatments run from 10am to noon and 2pm to 8pm. Families are welcome in the spa.
Anchored in the heart of the Alpine massif, in the hotel’s words.
Rooms
There are 107 rooms, all with a promise of a mountain view. Rooms of 20 m² come in ochre tones with balconies over the Brévent or the garden; Superior rooms facing Mont Blanc measure 25 m²; and family rooms run to 40 m² and 50 m², for up to five. Superior Attic rooms have balconies and a light-wood alcove.
Eating and drinking
Casa Nonna is the hotel’s restaurant, an Italian restaurant with Alpine roots from breakfast to dinner: panettone perdu, guanciale tartiflette and high-altitude chocolate, with local producers first. The terrace opens onto the gardens and Mont Blanc. The bar, shaped like a mountain peak under a skylight, mixes cocktails such as the winter Mer de Glace, with theme nights, DJ sets and concerts.
Our advice: book a Superior room facing Mont Blanc, swim outdoors before dinner, and take the first Aiguille du Midi cabin in the morning.
