The Gstaaderhof is a four-star active-and-relax hotel in the heart of Gstaad, run by Konstanze and Christof Huber, the second generation. It has a sauna spa with Thai massage, two restaurants, the Müli and the Saagi-Stübli, and the Barni Bar, with the cable cars about ten minutes’ walk away.

In the village

The Gstaaderhof stands on the Lauenenstrasse in the centre of Gstaad, with views to the Bernese Oberland and Glacier 3000. The cable cars are about ten minutes’ walk away. Konstanze and Christof Huber are the second-generation hosts, and the hotel’s promise is simple: be active and relax.

The spa

The wellness area has a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam room, a massage whirlpool, an experience shower, an infrared cabin and a relaxation room. It opens daily from 3pm to 9pm, and from 1pm on request when the weather turns. The spa is for adults and young people from 16, and the sauna area is textile-free. Massages are given in the Baan Sabai treatment area, and the whole spa can be booked privately outside opening hours.

“Be active and relax,” in the hotel’s words.

Rooms

Alpine queen rooms measure 22 m² and Alpine doubles 26 m²; Panorama doubles add a balcony with mountain views. Junior suites run from 33–42 m², and the duplex rooms, 40–44 m² over two floors, suit families.

Eating and drinking

Restaurant Müli is the dining room for a fine meal, the rustic Saagi-Stübli is the place for fondue and raclette, and the Barni Bar is for the evening drink.

Our advice: ask for a Panorama room or duplex with a balcony, book the Saagi-Stübli for one cheese night, and plan the sauna for the late afternoon after skiing.
