About Knob Hill Inn
Knob Hill Inn, built in 1992, is a 29-room inn within walking distance of downtown Ketchum, with views of Baldy and the Smoky and Boulder mountains. Every room has a balcony and a marble bathroom with a soaking tub, and the inn adds an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, a breakfast buffet and The Grill at Knob Hill.
An inn above Ketchum
Knob Hill Inn stands a short walk from downtown Ketchum, with views of “Baldy” and the Smoky and Boulder mountain ranges. Its team drives guests on demand anywhere in Sun Valley and Ketchum, including the lifts at Bald and Dollar mountains, and looks after skis in heated boot storage.
Pool, hot tub and sauna
On the main floor, the indoor heated pool, hot tub and sauna have glass doors opening to the deck for year-round use. For a full workout, guests receive day passes to the Wood River YMCA a few blocks away, with its saline lap pool, climbing wall and yoga and Pilates classes. A nightly inn fee covers breakfast, valet parking, transport and the YMCA passes.

Rooms and suites
All 29 rooms and suites have marble five-fixture bathrooms with oversized soaking tubs, walk-in showers and radiant floor heating, plus wet bars and private balconies. Deluxe Kings measure 450 sq ft and Premier Kings 550 sq ft; One-Bedroom Suites are 650 sq ft with a separate living area; and the two top-floor Sun Valley One-Bedroom Suites are 950 sq ft, with views of the Sawtooths or Bald Mountain. The Baldy Suite is the largest. Dogs are welcome.
Eating and drinking
Breakfast is served in the Fireplace Room, with a mimosa bar. The Grill at Knob Hill, run by the local restaurateurs Bob and Jolie Dunn, serves Northwest cuisine with American and European classics, from Idaho trout to prime steaks and wild game, and has an indoor-outdoor terrace room opening to the garden, the best outdoor dining in town, as the inn puts it.
Our advice: ask for a Premier King facing Baldy, let the inn drive you to the lifts, and dine at The Grill on the terrace.
