About Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Collection

Madeline Hotel & Residences, an Auberge Collection hotel, stands in the heart of Telluride’s Mountain Village, ski-in, ski-out, with the gondola down to the old town close by. It has 94 guest rooms and suites and 43 residences, The Spa at Madeline, a Sky Terrace pool and the après institution that is Timber Room.

In the heart of Mountain Village

Madeline sits in the centre of Mountain Village, surrounded on three sides by 14,000-foot peaks, with the gondola linking it to the historic town of Telluride. In winter the ski valet, run by Ski Butlers, has your skis waiting at the back door for a true ski-out start and greets you at the end of the day with warm boots. Adventure Guides arrange lift tickets, rentals delivered to your room, lessons and everything off the slopes.

The Spa at Madeline

The spa draws on the Alpine surroundings and the adventures that bring people to Telluride. Its therapists have created nature-inspired massages, rituals and facials, including couples’ rituals, guided by Auberge’s Joy of Wellbeing approach. A movement studio hosts yoga, and the fitness centre is open to guests.

Surrounded on three sides by dramatic 14,000-foot peaks, in the hotel’s words.

Up on the Sky Terrace, the outdoor pool, two hot tubs and fire pits look out over the mountains, which is where most guests end the ski day. A per-room, per-night resort fee covers fitness classes, sunset s’mores, in-room coffee and water and seasonal extras.

Rooms, suites and residences

Guest rooms pair classic Alpine design with luxury finishes: King rooms measure 510 sq ft, and many rooms have balconies with mountain or village views, oversized bathrooms with double vanities and deep soaking tubs, and some offer oxygen-enriched air. Suites run from the 890 sq ft Renovated One Bedroom Suite to the 1,655 sq ft Renovated Two Bedroom Suite, some with gas fireplaces. The residences, from one bedroom to four-bedroom penthouses such as “Wilson’s Peak”, are furnished like private ski homes with full kitchens and the hotel’s services.

Eating and drinking

Black Iron Kitchen + Bar serves casual modern mountain food around its signature fire tables, drawing on Western Slope farms, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with covered, heated outdoor seating. Timber Room, with its fireplace and commanding bar, is the heart of Telluride’s après scene, open from 3pm to 9pm daily for cocktails and shareable plates. Kettle Coffee serves coffee and light food from 7am to 2pm.

Families

Camp Madeline looks after children, and the residences make easy family bases. The Crest Club, the private ski and social club in Mountain Village, is an option for regular visitors.

Our advice: book a King Balcony room or a suite facing the peaks, reserve a Timber Room table for après on your first day, and save the Sky Terrace hot tubs for after dark. Families should ask about Camp Madeline when booking.
