About Macdonald Aviemore Resort
Macdonald Aviemore Resort gathers three four-star hotels in the centre of Aviemore, the Highlands, the Morlich and the Aviemore Hotel, with woodland lodges in the pine forest. Resort guests share the largest indoor pool complex in the Cairngorms, two ELEMIS treatment rooms and a choice of restaurants and bars, from Aspects to the Laggan whisky bar.
Three hotels in Aviemore
Macdonald Aviemore Resort sits in the centre of Aviemore, in the Cairngorms National Park, with three four-star hotels side by side. The Highlands Hotel is traditional, for couples and families, and connects directly to the leisure centre. The Morlich is a contemporary hotel designed for couples, some of its bedrooms looking to the Craigellachie Nature Reserve. The Aviemore Hotel is the family choice, with rooms for up to five, some with a separate bunk-bed partition. Woodland lodges in the pine forest share the resort’s facilities.
The pool and leisure centre
The leisure centre has what the resort calls the largest indoor pool complex in the Cairngorms. Families have a toddler pool, a flume, a wave machine and pool toys, with sea scooters for hire at the Leisure Desk; adults have a heated lagoon pool, a whirlpool, a sauna, a steam room and a gym. Unlimited use is included for resort guests, and the pool is not open to non-guests. Children aged 8–16 must be supervised by an adult, at one adult to three children.

Treatments
Two treatment rooms offer ELEMIS facials and massages, among them the Deeper than Deep Hot Stone Massage, with Balinese stones and frangipani monoi oil. Book with the leisure team on 01479 815275.
Eating and drinking
Aspects, in the Highlands Hotel, is the signature restaurant, with Cairngorm views, Scotch beef matured for at least 21 days and sustainably caught wild white fish. Giovanni’s, in the Morlich, serves handmade pizzas and fresh pasta, and Dalfaber Bar & Kitchen, formerly the Scottish Steakhouse, cooks Scottish beef on the grill. The Laggan Whisky & Cocktail Bar in the Highlands Hotel specialises in malt whisky, with staff to guide your choice, and there is also a coffee shop, a clubhouse and afternoon tea.
Our advice: couples should book the Morlich and families the Aviemore Hotel; ski Cairngorm by day, then spend the late afternoon in the lagoon pool before a dram in the Laggan.
