Regnum Bansko is a suite resort on Banski Suhodol Street, at the foot of the Pirin, where every room has a private balcony over the mountains or the gardens and pools. Its Thera SPA has a heated indoor pool, a marble Turkish hammam and a salt room, and a scheduled shuttle runs guests to the gondola station all winter.

Regnum Bansko calls itself the home of skiing, and the resort is built around the mountain: every room has a private balcony, looking either at the Pirin or over the gardens and pool areas. In winter a complimentary scheduled shuttle runs from the resort to the Bansko gondola station, so you need no car for the skiing.

Thera SPA

Thera SPA by Regnum is the resort’s wellness floor. There is a heated indoor pool lit by large windows, a Finnish sauna, a steam room scented with natural aromas, and a traditional Turkish hammam: a marble chamber with heated stone where you can have the kese scrub and soap-foam massage. A jacuzzi, a salt room and a fitness centre with cardio machines and free weights complete it.

Everything, from the pool to the treatments, is open daily, 09:00–21:00. The menu covers classical, deep-tissue, hot-stone and aromatherapy massages, facials, salt scrubs and mineral wraps. Regnum also runs the separate Regnum Banya thermal complex, with outdoor thermal pools and saunas, where resort guests have a reduced rate in season.

Suites

Regnum is almost entirely a suite hotel. Beyond the Superior Double Rooms, there are Superior, Deluxe and Grand Suites, each also offered with mountain views, Family Suites with a kitchenette for longer stays, and a Presidential Suite with its own terrace. All have air conditioning, a minibar and a separate living area in the suites.

Eating and drinking

Tarchin is the main restaurant, open in the evening, with buffet and à la carte dishes of European and Balkan flavours cooked by Turkish chefs; in winter a Gourmet à la Carte room serves international cuisine with premium wines. The Lobby Bistro & Bar runs from 08:00 to 23:00, sometimes with live music, and the Jazz Bar is the late-evening lounge with live jazz and acoustic sets.

Summer and families

In summer the resort’s aquapark, with water slides and children’s splash zones, is included for guests, and there is a kids’ club and a Kids & Family programme.

Our advice: choose a suite with a mountain view, take the morning shuttle to the gondola, and keep the late afternoon for the hammam. End the evening in the Jazz Bar.
