Scandic Rukahovi stands in Ruka village with genuine ski-in, ski-out access. Rooms run from 19 m² doubles to 45 m² Superior Sauna rooms with their own sauna, 43 m² Junior Suites and an 80 m² Presidential Suite, and the hotel has an evening sauna, Restaurant Kaltiokivi, a lobby bar, après-ski and a nightclub.

In the best spot in Ruka

Rukahovi stands at the heart of Ruka village, with the ski resort at the door and a ski rental shop about 80 metres away. It calls itself a traditional, elegant mountain hotel, and it is the village’s address for après-ski, with DJs and live music and a nightclub.

Saunas

Finland is sauna country, and Rukahovi has a hotel sauna open every evening, 6–9pm. For your own, book a Superior Sauna room, 45 m² for up to four, with a private sauna.

Rooms and suites

Standard and Classic Double rooms measure 19 m², and Standard Family rooms for three 18–20 m². Superior and Superior Family rooms have 30 m². The Junior Suites have 43 m² for up to five, and the Presidential Suite has 80 m² for up to five. Some rooms take pets.

Eating and drinking

Breakfast is served in Restaurant Rukahovi, 7–10am on weekdays and until 11am at weekends. Restaurant Kaltiokivi serves dinner daily, 4–10pm. The lobby bar and café open from morning until 1.30am, and there is room service.

Practical

Outdoor parking is included for hotel guests, some places with sockets for engine heaters, and the Rukan Parkkihalli garage, 20 metres away, is paid. Bikes are lent in summer.

Our advice: book a Superior Sauna room and have the sauna warm when you ski in, take dinner at Kaltiokivi, and save the nightclub for a Saturday.
