SkiStar Lodge Hemsedal, formerly Hemsedal Alpin Lodge, stands at the foot of the slopes with the Lodge Express lift directly outside the entrance. Its 142 rooms and apartments are furnished in natural materials, the children’s area and ski school are next door, and the lodge has two restaurants and bars, a playroom, a climbing wall, a grocery and a sports shop.

At the foot of the slopes

The lodge stands right at the foot of the ski slopes in the heart of Hemsedal, with the new Lodge Express lift directly outside the entrance, so mornings start with a few steps rather than a bus. The VY51 transfer bus from Oslo Airport stops here.

Rooms and apartments

There are 142 rooms and apartments, from spacious hotel rooms to apartments of a high standard, tastefully furnished in natural materials. The apartments sit right by the children’s area.

Located in the heart of the ski resort, with everything within easy reach, in SkiStar’s words.

Eating and drinking

The lodge has two restaurants and bars, with a hearty breakfast buffet, lunch menus, dinner and a coffee shop. Children up to six eat at no charge at selected SkiStar Lodge and Hotel restaurants.

Families

This is Hemsedal’s family address. Just below the lodge is the children’s area, with magic carpets, green slopes, play areas and a ski school, and inside there is a playroom and a climbing wall. A grocery, a sports shop and ski and bike rental are in the building, and the garage has paid parking.

Our advice: book an apartment by the children’s area if you are skiing with small children, buy your lift passes and rental with the stay, and keep the climbing wall for the last afternoon.

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with SkiStar Lodge Hemsedal before you go.
