Vail’s Mountain Haus stands on Gore Creek at the Covered Bridge in the heart of Vail Village, about 100 metres from Gondola One. It offers lodge rooms and condominiums of up to five bedrooms, with an outdoor heated pool, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms, all included for guests.

At the Covered Bridge

Few addresses in Vail are as central. Mountain Haus sits beside the Covered Bridge over Gore Creek, with Gondola One about 100 metres away, and the village’s shops, restaurants and après bars all around. The town shuttle stops right outside.

Pool, hot tubs and saunas

The leisure facilities are generous for a condominium hotel: an outdoor heated pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms, a newly renovated fitness centre and a hot yoga room. They are included for guests, as are the laundry facilities, morning coffee and tea and, in winter, après-ski cookies. Massages are the one extra.

Rooms and condominiums

Lodge rooms measure 450 sq ft, with a king or two queens. Studios of 810 sq ft add a full kitchen, balcony and fireplace; one-bedroom units are 920 sq ft; two-bedroom units 1,200 sq ft; three-bedroom units 1,700 sq ft, with penthouses on the top floor; four-bedroom units 2,600 sq ft; and five-bedroom units 2,990 sq ft. Each condominium has as many bathrooms as bedrooms, and there are mountainside and valleyside units.

Eating and drinking

The George, the American pub downstairs, is a favourite for après-ski. For everything else, Vail Village’s restaurants are a few steps away.

Our advice: ask for a mountainside unit, keep the pool and hot tubs for straight after skiing, and walk to Gondola One in the morning. For families, the two- and three-bedroom units are among the most central in town.
