About Auberge de la Maison
The Auberge de la Maison is the Garin family’s Alpine house at 1,300 metres in the village of Entrèves, below Mont Blanc and close to the Skyway. Its spa, La Maison de l’eau, has a heated indoor-outdoor pool, a sauna, a steam bath and a private hay spa, and its restaurant L’Aubergine cooks Aosta Valley produce, some from the family’s own garden.
A house in Entrèves
The Auberge stands at 1,300 metres in the old village of Entrèves, just above Courmayeur and close to the Skyway Monte Bianco. Inside, it feels like a family home: sofas around a crackling fire, the scent of old wood, period prints on the walls and the Garin family’s own art collections.
La Maison de l’eau
The spa is built around a heated relaxation pool, indoor and outdoor, which the house calls the nearest to Mont Blanc, with a mountain waterfall, hydromassage and colour lighting. There is a sauna at 90 °C and a steam bath at 45 °C, and therapists give rituals and treatments with Alpine products.

The Refuge du Mont Blanc is a spa within the spa, booked at reception for private use. It has a gentle hay and mountain-herb bio-sauna, an old wooden hot tub and two hay beds, where you can take treatments and, if you like, a tasting of tea and petits fours or a half-bottle of Champagne.
Rooms and suites
Every room smells of wood. Some are modelled on mountain huts, others are more romantic; some have a fireplace, some a wooden mezzanine, and some frame Mont Blanc in a great window. The suites carry mountain names, from the Grand Rocher Altitude and Rocher Altitude to the Mont Blanc and Petit Mont Blanc, with Les Dames Anglaises deluxe room and the Junior Suite de Montagne.
Eating and drinking
L’Aubergine looks out on Mont Blanc, with a central fireplace in winter and a terrace in summer, and cooks Aosta Valley, Italian and border dishes from local producers and the house garden. The Grignotage Bar, in the lobby’s Alpine sitting rooms, serves infusions, spirits, cocktails and traditional snacks from 10am to midnight. In the centre of Courmayeur, the family also runs Cadran Solaire, with vaulted rooms, a secret cellar and the Terrasse Solaire.
Our advice: book a room with a fireplace or a Mont Blanc window, reserve the Refuge du Mont Blanc for one evening, and ride the Skyway on your first clear morning.
