About Funivia Bormio Active Hotel
Hotel Funivia is a four-star active hotel overlooking the slopes, surrounded by the Stelvio National Park and a short walk from the centre of Bormio. It has a spa with an indoor pool, a private spa, a panoramic Wellbeing Room, indoor and outdoor gyms, rooms with art by Stefano Scifoni and a restaurant of Valtellina dishes.
Built for active days
The Funivia stands above the slopes at the foot of the Stelvio, a short walk from the centre and surrounded by the Stelvio National Park. Sport is in its DNA: yoga, Pilates and circuit classes, indoor and outdoor gyms and, in summer, a cycling programme over the great Alpine passes.
Spa and pool
The spa with its indoor pool is cosy, quiet and well kept, warm in winter and airy in summer. After the circuit, a relaxation room with loungers, herbal tea and fresh fruit invites you to stay a little longer. On the third floor, the Private Spa can be booked alone or as a couple, and massages are given by appointment in the spa or the Wellbeing Room.
Wellbeing is not about numbers or mandatory routines, in the hotel’s words.
Wellbeing spaces
The Wellbeing Room on the second floor has a panoramic mountain view, for stretching, yoga or meditation, with personal trainers, biomechanical tests and nutritional advice on request. The Silent Room on the first floor is for reading, resting or working in peace.
Rooms and suites
Each room carries works by the artist Stefano Scifoni. Classic rooms come with or without a balcony; panoramic rooms in traditional Alpine style all have balconies; and the modern rooms and suites are open-plan, with views of the mountains or the village, including a suite designed for those who never miss a workout.
Eating and drinking
The restaurant, also open to non-residents, puts Valtellina on the plate: pizzoccheri, sciatt, polenta taragna, bresaola, sc’mödin and venison salmì, with a wine list for pairings. In summer the chefs grill in view and you eat in the garden facing the mountains.
Our advice: book a panoramic room with a balcony, take a yoga class in the Wellbeing Room, and reserve the Private Spa for the evening.
