About Hotel Neue Post, Mayrhofen
The Neue Post stands on Hauptstraße in the centre of Mayrhofen, near the station and the ski buses, with a tradition dating to 1664 and the Pfister family as hosts. Its 850 m² spa is crowned by a rooftop pool heated to 34 °C in winter, and Der Postwirt serves five-course menus in a tiled-stove Stüberl.
In the centre of Mayrhofen
The Neue Post stands at Hauptstraße 400, in the heart of Mayrhofen, close to the railway station and the ski-bus stops for the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen. The tradition of the house goes back to 1664, and the Pfister family runs it today.
The spa
The spa covers about 850 m² and is included for guests. Its highlight is the rooftop pool, heated to 34 °C in winter, with drinks served at the water’s edge. Below are an indoor pool and a sauna area with a Finnish sauna, a crystal steam bath, a herbal biosauna, a textile and family sauna, Luis Trenker infrared cabins and the Zirbendom, a stone-pine dome with seven throne-like seats. Relaxation rooms, a spa lounge and heated loungers complete it, and an outdoor silence area is kept for adults.

The sauna area opens daily from 14.00 to 20.00, and the textile sauna by the indoor pool from 11.00 to 22.00.
Rooms and suites
There are seventeen room types. Doubles measure about 24 m², Deluxe doubles 29–31 m² and the family room 38 m². Junior suites (Berglust, Grinberg, Bergjuwel, Landleben, Post and Zirbe) run from about 30 to 35 m², the Pool Suites measure about 38 m² (the Deluxe with a mountain-view terrace), the Familysuite Zirbe Deluxe about 60 m² and the Vital Suite Berglust about 65 m².
Eating and drinking
Der Postwirt is the à la carte restaurant, a Tyrolean Stüberl with a tiled stove, open to non-residents. Christoph Pfister and Simon Hundsbichler cook national and international dishes from seasonal regional produce, with five-course set menus in the evening and a farmers’ buffet or chef’s barbecue once a week. There is a Tyrolean bar and lounge, a chill-out lounge and a wine cellar where the owner leads wine and beer tastings.
Families and skiers
Children have a soft-play room and a games room with PlayStation, table tennis, air hockey and billiards. Skiers get a heated ski and bike room with private lockers.
Our advice: book a Pool Suite or a Zirbe junior suite, go up to the rooftop pool as the sun leaves the valley, and reserve Der Postwirt for the five-course menu.
