About Mont Cervin Palace
The Mont Cervin Palace, run by the Seiler family since 1867, is the grand five-star on Zermatt’s Bahnhofstrasse. Three linked buildings hold Alpine rooms, chalet rooms and family suites, all sharing the Spa Nescens with its long indoor pool, the Grill Le Cervin, Joseph’s Bar and, in winter, the Capri.
In the heart of the village
The Mont Cervin Palace stands on Bahnhofstrasse, Zermatt’s car-free main street, a short walk from the station and the lifts. It is really three houses joined together: the Main Buildings with the Alpine rooms, the Résidence with the family suites and Le Petit Cervin with the chalet rooms. Whichever you choose, you reach the restaurants, the spa and every hotel service without going outside.
Spa Nescens
The spa is built around a 20 × 8 m indoor pool, heated to 28 °C in winter, its smooth water reflecting the architecture above. Two whirlpools with mountain views are kept at 35 °C in winter, and children have their own shallow pool, 40 cm deep. In summer an outdoor pool and lawn open in the middle of the village.
An address as legendary as the Matterhorn, in the hotel’s words.
The sauna area has a Finnish sauna of up to 85 °C, a biosauna of 50–60 °C with coloured light, a eucalyptus steam bath and hot and cold footbaths, plus a women-only sauna in winter. Under-16s are not admitted to the sauna area. Treatments follow the Nescens menu of massages, expert facial rituals and skincare boosters, with manicures and pedicures. Hotel guests use the spa during opening hours; outside guests should telephone first.
Rooms and suites
There are eighteen categories. Alpine Classic rooms measure 25–28 m² and Alpine Superior rooms 34–37 m², with the Zermatt mountains outside; Alpine Junior Suites Matterhorn run to 47–50 m² and Alpine Suites to 54–65 m². The Pollux and Castor suites are 100 m² each, and the Matterhorn Suite 136 m², all facing the mountain.
In Le Petit Cervin, chalet rooms of 20–24 m² open onto the Matterhorn or the surrounding peaks, the Open Suites measure 60 m² and the Chalet Suite Le Petit Cervin 120 m². Families take the Résidence: one- and two-bedroom family suites of 74 m², and a Family Duplex Suite of 129 m² for four.
Eating and drinking
The Grill Le Cervin and Joseph’s Restaurant & Bar open in both winter and summer, as does the Salon Davidoff. In winter the Capri, the one-MICHELIN-star Italian restaurant (MICHELIN Guide 2026) on the fourth floor of Le Petit Cervin, and its Capri Bar join them. The hotel describes its kitchens as regional specialities, international dishes and traditional cooking.
Our advice: book an Alpine Junior Suite Matterhorn for the view without the price of the named suites, reserve the Capri when you book your room, and take the children to the 40 cm pool at the end of the ski day while you stay in the whirlpool.
